Persimmons in fruit—
Hear the distant temple bells
Day grows into night

I drew this piece about four years ago, when I was visiting the Jesuit high school at Kobe. It was summer and right outside my window was this persimmon tree, called kaki in Japanese, pendant with fruit. I wrote a haiku on the persimmon.
